Jelena Ostapenko is a Latvian player who won junior Wimbledon Championship in 2014. She has won 7 singles titles in his career on ITF. Ostapenko played her first women’s Ladies’ Singles at 2015 Wimbledon championship. She reached the second round of Ladies singles round before losing it to Kristina Mladenovic. She has beaten Carla Suarez in first round who was seeded ninth in the championship.

Ostapenko has made a win-loss record of 13-9 while playing at Fed Cup for Latvia. She was ranked 2 after 2014 Wimbledon where she won her first junior Wimbledon singles. She defeated Shahar Peer in the 1st round of Tashkent Open 2014 after her wild card entry.

She won her career’s first big title at Ladies Neva Cup 2015 where she defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Olga Govortsova. Unfortunately, she could not qualify for Prague Open 2015. At her first French Open in 2015, she was beaten by Vera Dushevina in the first round of qualifying.

She started her season at her favorite surface grass court at Topshelf Open. In Wimbledon 2015, she managed to qualify but lost in the second round of the tournament against Kristina Mladenovic. Before US Open, she played in first round of Istanbul Cup where she lost to Kirsten Flipkens.

She is currently World’s No. 13 which a good ranking status for a young player. The beginning of 2016 was not that good for her career. She played her first WTA of the year, a match which was full of controversy . She managed to qualify the Australia Open but lost in the first round before Hsieh Su-wei after 2nd set.

In February 2016, Ostapenko reached the finals of Qatar Total Open in Doha by defeating Petra Kvitova on her way. In the final round, she was defeated by Carla Suarez Navarro.
