Wimbledon 2017 Andy Murray : Wimbledon tennis championship is one of the major Grand Slams of the year. Tennis players from all over the world take part in this tournament at All England Tennis Club, London. Today, we will talk about one of the amazing player of the tournament Andy Murray, who is the champion of 2013 & 2016 Wimbledon tennis tournament.

Andrew Barron Murray or popularly known as Andy Murray was born on May 15 1987 in Scotland. His current world rank is No. 1 among singles tennis players. Murray has won two major Grand Slams, Davis Cup and Olympics. From year 2011, he is continuously reaching at least the quarterfinals of all major events in tennis. He is also the winner of 2004 Junior US Open tournament after which he entered into professional tennis.

One of the great achievements of Murray is winning 2012 Olympics against Roger Federer and becoming the first British player to be a singles Champion. He is the only man who has made record of reaching five finals of first Grand Slam Australia Open. There are also some other records like this on his name.

After winning his first junior singles at US Open 2004, Murray played his first Wimbledon men’s singles in 2005. At Wimbledon 2005, Murray entered through wild card and became the first Scottish player to reach third round of Wimbledon men’s singles event. Murray jumped one step and reached fourth round in Wimbledon 2006. Murray was not present at Wimbledon 2007 which is his only absent since now.

After returning in 2008, Murray first time reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon tennis tournament. Murray lost against Andy Roddick in semifinals after winning quarterfinals over Stan Wawrinka at Wimbledon 2009. Murray’s performance was becoming better every year at the tournament. He reached three consecutive semifinals of Wimbledon from 2009 to 2011.

In 2010, Nadal defeated Murray in semifinals of Wimbledon. Murray also changed his coach and Alex Corretja became his new coach. But changing coach didn’t work. In 2011, Murray again lost in the semifinals against Nadal at Wimbledon. At Wimbledon 2012, Murray managed to reach the finals of Wimbledon and became first British man to reach the finals after Bunny Austin.

Murray again made history by winning at Wimbledon 2013 tennis tournament over world’s No. 1 Novak Djokovic. It was his third major final against Djokovic. In year 2014, he couldn’t do the magic again and reached quarterfinals. He once again lost in his fourth semifinals at Wimbledon against Federer in 2015. This year, Murray is doing quite well till now. According to his present performance, there are 83 % chances of Murray to win this year’s third Grand Slam.
